| John Doucette is an Assistant
Professor in Engineering Management
in the Department of
Mechanical Engineering at the University of
Alberta and an
Adjunct Scientist in the Network Systems group at
TRLabs. He
received a B.Sc. in Mathematics from Dalhousie University
in
1992, a B.Eng. in Industrial Engineering from the
Technical
University of Nova Scotia (TUNS, now Dalhousie
University) in 1996,
and a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer
Engineering at the University of Alberta in 2004. He has been with the
Department of Mechanical Engineering since 2005, has held various
positions within TRLabs since 1997, and he was an instructor in the
Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of
Alberta from 1998 to 2002, where he taught courses in probability and
statistics and in telecommunication systems engineering. Dr. Doucette
has published approximately 20 conference and journal papers, a book
chapter, and approximately 15 technical reports and presentations. He
has patents granted or pending on four topics, and is a P.Eng. in the
province of Alberta. He has twice been one of three finalists for the
Alberta Science and Technology (ASTech) Leadership Awards Foundation
Leaders of Tomorrow Award and was awarded an Alberta Ingenuity
Industrial Associateship in 2004. His current research interests
include network restoration and protection, network planning and
design, and network resource management and optimization. |
