Zhen Liu received the Ph.D. degree
in Computer Science from the University of Orsay (Paris XI), France, in
1989. He was with the France Telecom R&D as an Associate Researcher
from 1986 to 1988. He joined INRIA (the French national research center
on information and automation) in 1988, first as a Researcher, then
became a Research Director. Zhen Liu joined IBM T. J. Watson Research
Center in 2000 as a Research Staff Member, and has been the manager of
the System Analysis and Optimization Department since 2001. His
research interests are on control and performance analysis of
communication networks, modeling of traffic and transport protocols,
design and analysis of routing algorithms in wired and wireless
networks, scheduling and performance evaluation of parallel and
distributed systems. He is also interested in Petri nets and queueing
networks. Zhen Liu was the program co-chair of the joint conference of ACM Sigmetrics 2004 and IFIP Performance Conference 2004.
He is a member of the IFIP W.G. 7.3
on performance modeling.
